Allowing sericea lespedeza to sun cure after harvest decreased dramatically the amount of extractable condensed tannins and the capability of condensed tannins to bind proteins; moreover, condensed tannin concentration and protein-binding capability peaked near the flowering stage of sericea lespedeza. It is unknown at this time how forage species composition, soil cover, forage biomass, and sericea lespedeza will respond when growing season burns are applied in consecutive years.
